Johor Darul Takzim is a beautiful state in the southern part of Peninsular Malaysia and is home to beautiful rainforests and stunning islands, such as the Rawa Island. Rumah Impian Bangsa Johor, or RIBJ, is an affordable housing scheme that was launched on 22 March 2017 by His Royal Highness Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar, the Sultan of Johor, under the administration of Yayasan Sultan Ibrahim Johor (or the Sultan Ibrahim Johor Foundation).
Through this initiative, it is envisioned that the ‘rakyat’, or the citizens of Johor will have the opportunity to own a property in a strategic location with comfortable amenities.
So, what does a RIBJ home look like? Among the types of properties available under the RIBJ scheme are single-storey and double-story terrace houses and the price starts from RM 70,000.

In line with the objective of RBIJ to provide affordable housing to every sphere of society, priority will be given to applicants who do not own a property. In addition to the criteria above, there are also requirements on the applicants’ household incomes, which will determine the property types they would qualify for :

Step 1: Select ‘pemohon’ or applicant:
Step 2: If you have previously registered, all you will need to do is key in your MyKad (the Malaysian identity card) number and your password.
However, if you have not registered before, you will need to do so by selecting ‘Daftar Akaun RBIJ’ (Register for RBIJ Account).
Step 2A: Registering for RBIJ Account
Key in the required information such as your full name as per your MyKad, your MyKad number, email address, and your password. When you are done, check the box ‘Saya bersetuju dengan terma and syarat’. This is to indicate your acceptance of the terms and conditions. (Note: You may access the full list of terms and conditions by clicking on the words ‘terma dan syarat’). You will also need to key in the verification code displayed. Once you are done, you may proceed to click ‘Daftar Akaun’ (Register for Your Account).
Step 3: Apply
Once you have registered your account, you may proceed to submit your application for available projects.
To ensure that only qualified and deserving applicants receive the opportunity to purchase a property under RIBJ, all applications go through a stringent review process. Below are the stages of the process:
First Stage: This is done automatically via the RIBJ system where the application is submitted.
Second Stage: The applications are then vetted by the Registration and Offering Committee of the Yayasan Sultan Ibrahim Johor.
Third Stage: The Selection Board of the Yayasan Sultan Ibrahim Johor then shortlists approved applicants from the list of eligible applicants provided by the Registration and Offering Committee.
Fourth Stage: The list of approved applicants is then finalised and confirmed during the meeting of the Board of Trustees of Yayasan Sultan Ibrahim Johor.
Shortlisted applicants will be contacted via Whatsapp message to the registered phone number.
To date, there have been two locations of RIBJ which are in:
Johor Bahru, the capital of the Johor state is strategically located near Iskandar Puteri. Both are part of the Iskandar Malaysia Development Region, a growing economic region in Malaysia. Johor Bahru has a population of approximately 497,067, of which 48.35% are Malays, 34.73% are Chinese, 13.70% are Indians and 3.22% fall into the ‘others’ category.
There are two RIBJ developments in Johor Bahru, which are in Bandar Dato’ Onn and Bandar Baru Majidee. Bandar Dato’ Onn and Bandar Baru Majidee are located 19 km and 15 km away from the Causeway. Below are the details of these projects:

The RIBJ project in Mersing will be developed over 57 hectares of freehold land in Kampung Sri Pantai. The Mersing district is the third-largest district in Johor. The capital of the Mersing district is the Mersing town. With a population of approximately 70,894 as of 2010, it is one of the two major towns in east Johor, with the other town being Kota Tinggi. The Mersing Jetty, which has ferry services to the beautiful islands of Pulau Tioman and Pulau Rawa, is located approximately 5.6 km from Kampung Sri Pantai. This provides residents easy access to the islands for a quick, relaxing weekend getaway.
